Dr. Tae Ho Kim

NYC plastic surgeon Dr. Tae Ho Kim is board certified in plastic surgery and has performed more than 6500 operations in 20 years of academic and private practice.   After graduating from Cornell University with honors in Chemistry, he completed his medical school education at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  His experience in Tissue Engineering at Harvard University and Children’s Hospital Boston not only solidified his general surgery training but allowed him to understand how biomaterials fit into the modern techniques of plastic surgery.

After completing his Plastic Surgery Residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, he completed a fellowship in pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and University of Southern California.  Under the mentorship of Dr. John Reinisch, one of the true masters and pioneers of plastic surgery of his generation, Dr. Kim learned the artful ways to create harmony and balance of the face and body for both children and adults.

To pursue a new challenge, Dr. Kim moved to New York and practiced in Westchester, New York for over 7 years, building a distinctive cleft and craniofacial program at the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital and serving as the craniofacial surgeon for Westchester Medical Center.  During this time, he became well known in the area for his expertise in cosmetic surgery.

Many of us want to improve certain physical attributes that would give better harmony and balance to reflect how we feel.  Some of us are born with physical problems that require aesthetic and functional correction. Dr. Kim has been honing his craft as a masterful plastic surgeon over the past 16 years in cosmetic operations such as rhinoplasty, face and neck lift, breast augmentation, breast lift, abdominoplasty, and liposuction, as well as pediatric reconstructive operations such as total ear reconstruction for microtia with the Reinisch MEDPOR technique, correction of cleft lip and palate deformities, craniosynostosis, hemangiomas, vascular malformations, giant nevi (moles), jaw deformities, and congenital hand anomalies. He has sixteen years of experience in treating traumatic injuries to the face and hand.

Because of his scientific work with biomaterials such as hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restalyne, etc.) and polylactic acid (Sculptra), Dr. Kim has developed an algorithm for facial fillers to restore facial volume naturally and without creating a distorted, swollen look.   Dr. Kim’s philosophy at his West Village Plastic Surgery office in NYC is to provide the highest quality of treatment and service to improve, restore and harmonize the face and body for the people in his community. With masterful skill, experience, talent and hard work, guided by his principle of The Natural Look, Dr. Kim allows his patients to understand their individual needs to create the proper treatment plan.  He is proud to serve the local communities of NYC in the West Village, Greenwich Village, Soho, East Village, Lower East Side, Tribeca, as well as the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island and Westchester.
