SCULPTRA for the TIRED LOOK

The tired look for most people come from the volume flattening out in your anterior cheeks.  This can occur early on in life.  The subtle or not so subtle volume loss in the anterior cheeks accentuates the fullness of the lower eyelids, which makes one want to inject in the tear trough area.  However, injection in the tear trough area with a hyaluronic acid (Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero) is tricky to do well, may lead to a very strange swollen look, and may not last all that long. The way that Sculptra works is by creating an external matrix for collagen growth.   Sculptra is made as small sand-like spheres.  When thousands of these sand-like spheres are injected strategically in the face, the surrounding tissue responds by signaling fibroblasts to migrate and attach to the sand-like spheres, which in turn stimulates the fibroblasts to produce collagen.  It will take 2 or more separate treatments, with a one month interval between treatment, to get the desired results.  The results can last for more than 2 years, but yearly maintenance may be a better strategy.
